Somatic Massage Therapy and Abdominal Techniques
massage therapy as a relational practice of body listening and care.
somatic massage therapy, as i practice it, is a utilization of massage tools (deep tissue, myofascial, intuitive listening, Swedish, Shiatsu, abdominal techniques) within care and context of the nervous system and relational systems (emotional, spiritual, ancestral, earthly, current power systems).
thru body offers touch techniques in care of the wholeness of being where bodywork can be generative, supportive, healing, relational and adaptable.
the abdominal techniques i practice are from the Masewal Maya lineage of the Yucatan region (currently called Belize). Tul’ix Indigenous Arts (formerly known as Arvigo® Maya Abdominal Techniques) is a conjunction of physical, spiritual and emotional care. the massage is external, focusing on the abdomen, lower back, sacrum and coccyx. it is effective in uterus care (reducing painful cramps, endometriosis, PCOS, fibroids), digestion (constipation, IBS, Crohns), supporting the organs in moving to their optimal place, scar healing, in/fertility care (including IUI and IVF)
