About M.E

Marina mars Eskina is a tree loving human who is practicing massage therapy. They have been practicing for 9 years, starting their massage journey 11 years ago at the Swedish Institute of Health Sciences. They have always been body-oriented, from climbing trees and running wild as a child, playing basketball and having a devoted yoga practice in their 20’s, currently dancing and rock climbing. Marina’s predominant work is listening- listening to body, energy, spirit and ancestors. They love the body, and hear the deeper soul, emotional, inter-generational messages body holds and shares.
mars was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan while it was part of the Soviet Union; their blood ancestry is Russian Jewish and they came to NYC with their family in 1997 through Jewish Refugee status. NYC was their home into adult life, since then they’ve lived in Boston, on the road, and currently in Tucson- Tohono O’odham and Pascua Yaqui land.
In their Somatic bodywork practice, your participation is not just as an individual, but as a web of connections. Your ailments and healing are connected to your environment, your ancestry, the people around you, the plants, animals, mountains, technologies, water-bodies you live with. mars / Marina Eskina’s ability to support you comes from their web of relations as well; their community of living, lived and spirit beings. It comes from their relationships and moves through relationship. Trust, consent and nervous system care are essential in body work because they build the relationship through which the hands-on techniques have an impact.
The bones of our ancestors and the ancestors of our indigenous neighbors, plants, animals are our soil, their breath is our air, their blood-our water, their spirits-the fire that keeps us warm and brought us life. Through the body we are in, we are connected to the Earth, to this world, we are a part of this whole. We are not alone. We are in constant evolving relationship with the seen and unseen, with belonging on earth. Our bodies feel the personal, communal and earthly loss, pains and griefs. They also feel the personal, communal and earthly love, joys and gratitudes. Our bodies are the short-term physical foundations of our souls, relationships, memories and wisdoms. They are not just the vessel; they are our expression and our existence.
